Laura Linney was one of the most renowned American actors of recent times. Her savacious and vulnerable roles have earned her a cult famous. Her father was a celebrated playwright. However, Linney was raised as an all-only child by her single-mother who was a nurse. Through the summer months and with her father Linney was able to develop a passion for the theatre. Linney eventually pursued acting initially in Brown University then at Juilliard School. After just two short years following graduation she began her Broadway-based career. The following year she made her debut on TV and film. Her appearances have been in a variety of films, and television and stage productions since then. She has been awarded numerous prizes throughout her career. These include four Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations. However, despite all the awards, her passion for the theatre isn't gone, and she performs in the stage and on screen.
